INTERTEC has an extensive a range of cabinets, shelters, and environmental protection enclosures.
To provide a solution against freezing or condensation, INTERTEC developed heaters for hazardous areas. This enables INTERTEC to optimize the choice of insulated protection enclosure or cabinet with the optimal form of heater for each individual application.
Now, with an experience stretching more than 50 years, the product range has grown continuously for the applications of freeze protection, condensation and temperature maintenance. INTERTEC’s range of explosion-proof heaters includes a wide variety of ATEX and IECEx compliant models, with individual power ratings from 25W to 600W and a choice of temperature classes.
There are different convection models as well as conduction models available. For applications with flat metal surfaces, conduction heaters are available. A conduction heater requires less energy than a convection heater, because the heat transfer is more efficient. But if the installed instruments are complex and interlaced, without a flat surface, convection heaters and well-insulated enclosures provide an efficient solution.
In many cases, a heater without controller or temperature switch doesn’t make sense, therefore INTERTEC heaters can be combined with several external devices to ensure energy savings, safety considerations and constant temperature for accurate measurements.
Most of the explosion-proof heaters and controllers are also available in versions that comply with country-specific safety standards, including the latest editions of the National Electrical Code (NEC) standard used in the US, and the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) standard.
