Kemppi Welding Solutions for the Hydrocarbons Industry

Kemppi Australia Pty Ltd is a subsidiary of Kemppi Oy, Finland. A leading global designer and manufacturer of electric arc welding equipment and welding software solutions, Kemppi incorporates the latest industry technology to deliver high-end equipment that increases welding quality and productivity in the hydrocarbon industry.

The company’s product portfolio includes a full range of Mig / Mag, Tig and MMA welding equipment with the latest inverter power source technology for both manual and automated welding systems. These products meet the needs of a broad range of industrial manufacturing and construction sectors, including heavy fabrication shops, light-to-medium welding workshops, vehicle body shops, boat / shipbuilding, mine sites, offshore construction, pipeline fabrication and general manufacturing operations.

Leading edge welding solutions

Our welding solutions are world-leading in terms of efficiency, performance and safety. They offer relatively high-duty cycles, low power consumption and in-built safety features. Some of our products have become standard reference for welding equipment within certain industry sectors and/or applications.

Mig, Tig and MMA welding products

The Minarc EVO DC Mig, Tig and MMA packages are ideal for repair work on mine sites, onsite pipelines and offshore repair and maintenance. The range offers compact, portable and powerful welders from 150amp-250amp including single and three-phase models. These are generator compatible and operate at 35% duty cycle. Each model features power factor correction and inverter power technologies to maximise energy efficiency. Meeting Australian standards, the range also includes integrated VRD, a VRD operational status light and fail to safe function.

The Kemppi Fastmig family of Mig welding solutions is the professional choice for powerful welding in heavy industry. These solutions are perfect for applications requiring both power and a quality weld.

The Fastmig family is available in Basic, Synergic and Pulse formats in both gas and water cooled options. Basic and Synergic are available in 300amp, 400amp and 500amp power sources, while the Fastmig Pulse range includes 350amp and 450amp versions.

Each Fastmig system includes a power source, high-quality separate wire feeder ensuring optimum control, a choice of control panel functions and a welding gun with interconnecting earth cables. A transport unit can be ordered to add portability to the system. Plus, functionality can be increased with a variety of remote control, arc timing and weld monitoring options.

For welding at a distance and access to restricted spaces, Fastmig Synergic systems can be fitted with the Kemppi Supersnake sub feeder including a synchronisation card providing up to 25m of additional welding reach. The unique Mig gun allows unprecedented access benefits within confined spaces and difficult to reach welding locations.

Welding software solutions

Kemppi WISE solutions can be considered as ‘apps for welding.’ They are optional software solutions that modify and enhance welding arc performance for specific and challenging applications. They improve quality and productivity and are available as WISE penetration, fusion, thin and root functions.

MATCH curves are available as optional software components for specific welding purposes.

Arc Q welding management system

The Arc Q system can be set up with any welding power source in both multiple machines and multisite orientation, to monitor and report on conformance to pre-registered welding procedures. Details of welding materials, base material, welding staff and all relevant welding procedures are recorded, and any non conformance to the required WPS can be identified in real-time or recorded for later analysis.

In high-risk, critical welding operations, Arc Q delivers peace of mind in welding management and quality control.

AC/DC Tig welding systems

Kemppi offers a range of sophisticated AC/DC MasterTig welding systems that are ideal for heavy industrial applications.

Fitweld offers 300 amps of fully-packaged welding power in a convenient easy to carry case. It has been designed for lower duty cycle applications where portability is the main criteria, particularly in combination with gasless wire for remote locations, outdoor tack welding and general welding operations.

The Kemppi ArcFeed machines are voltage sensing wire feed units for productive Mig/Mag welding and can be used from almost every welding power source, including weldling generators.

Kemppi in Australia

From its head office in Smithfield, NSW, Kemppi Australia provides sales, customer service and logistical support for the Australian, New Zealand and Pacific Island markets. The modern facility combines a distribution warehouse with a service repair workshop and welding demonstration bays.

The Kemppi family established Kemppi Oy in 1949 and it remains a family operation. The business employs more than 600 people globally. It imports via 15 international subsidiaries and exports directly to a further 70 markets.

Kemppi’s headquarters and main manufacturing facility are located in Lahti, Finland. The facility incorporates electronic and welding equipment manufacturing plants that are accredited to both ISO9001 and ISO14001.
