OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY

Elliott compressors operate in all types of oil and gas applications from gas gathering, boosting and processing to gas lift, gas/oil separation and gas re-injection. Elliott has been a leader in the oil and gas industry dating back to the introduction of the first 10,000psi (690bar) gas compressor for gas reinjection, installed on an offshore platform in the North Sea. Since then, we have continued to developed significant technological advances now installed in rotating equipment operating worldwide.

PETROCHEMICAL PROCESSING

Petrochemical processors have always turned to Elliott Company for world-class solutions. We are a leading supplier of turbomachinery for the production of ethylene, propylene, ammonia, methanol, polyethylene, ethylene glycol, ethylene oxide, and linear low density chemicals. In ethylene processing our cracked gas and refrigeration compressors are world-renowned. Approximately 50% of the world’s ethylene plant compressors are Elliott, including most of the world’s largest plants.

Elliott’s multistage, multivalve turbines are often specified to drive Elliott compressors in ethylene plant service, as well as in many other installations. This rugged, reliabile, versatile equipment is esteemed for its smooth operation, which makes them ideal drivers for many industrial processes and electric power generation. Elliott steam turbines deliver power ratings to 100,000hp (74,560kW), speeds to 16,000rpm, and options for extraction and/or induction flow.

POWER RECOVERY AND THE REFINING INDUSTRY

Elliott rotating machinery plays a critical role in many stages of refinery operations, including the recovery of unsaturated gases from the crude and coking sections and the catalytic-cracker fractionator overhead. We also supply air for catalyst circulation and regeneration in the catalytic-cracking process and in gasoline extraction. For many years we have been an innovator in this field. A power recovery string delivered to a large refinery in the western United States consists of an Elliott 42,000hp single-stage expander, an Elliott 34,400hp axial compressor, an Elliott 17,100hp steam turbine, and a 15,000hp synchronous motor/generator. We are also a major supplier of compressor packages for hydrogen recycle applications in the desulphurization process.

CHEMICAL PRODUCTION

Elliott equipment is widely used in chemical production applications such as chlorine and sulfuric acid processing. The industry leaders choose Elliott because of our wide range of frames, technological innovation for high throughput, and rugged construction to withstand attack from corrosive materials. Elliott’s highly-engineered compressors are well-suited to the chlorine industry because they can provide multiple points of ISO-cooling within a single compressor body and positive shaft sealing.

LNG PRODUCTION

Elliott compressors were installed in the world’s first base-load LNG plant, and our compressors continue playing a major role in this industry today. Whether a customer is looking at base-load or peak-shaving facilities, Elliott’s experience and design advantages provide reliable performance in any type of process: cascade, mixed refrigerant, or propane/mixed refrigerant.
